View Full Version : The 24 Marathon and Seinfeld Marathon.
Anyone been watching them today and yesterday? The first series of 24 was aired in its entirity from midnight Friday night to Midnight last night. I hadn't seen it, so I had it on all day in the background. I caught most of it, but had to go to the footy of course, so I missed a bit of it. I got home in time for the conclusion, though!
And, it's great to be able to flick it onto TV1 at anytime and know tht Seinfeld will be on. Reminds me of the Olympics when the Simpsons was on 24 hours a day for 2 weeks!

24 - couldn't care less about that
Seinfeld - that's been the best thing about Easter. Never get sick of the show about nothing.

Don't bother with 24, but the Seinfeld marathon has been sensational.

Just before going to bed Friday night, flicked on the TV and saw 24 on, thought I'd watch the first episode then go to bed but got hooked and watched the whole thing. Saw a couple of Seinfeld eps on Friday.
I've been flicking between the Seinfeld and The Bill marathons.

I wish there was a Seinfeld channel with constant seinfeld and possibly curb.
Been watching a lot of the Seinfeld marathon. It's fantastic seeing them all one after the other.

Why hasn't any Seinfeld material been released on DVD yet?
Keep those VCRs grinding.
I actually saw an episode on Saturday of Seinfeld that I've never seen before (and I thought I had seen them all- being a Seinfeld fanatic). It's the one where a friend of Jerry's goes out with Elaine and while in the car, he pulls 'it' out.....Jerry also kills his friend by making him laugh so hard while he's in hospital. Anyone see this one? (Obviously would have been on Foxtel sometime previously.) It's called the Stand In I think. I don't recall it ever having been shown on network tv before.

Foxtel have shown it at there usual time they show Seinfeld [8 am/9pm repeat],but ch10 have only shown it once or twice after 8.30pm due to its rating. The same applies for The Contest episode.

Ah okay, cheers Jubjub, honestly never seen it before, though I've seen The Contest when they had their black label collection series showing on Ten....must have missed that episode then...

Both series are great. Why are some of you guys bagging 24?

I have been wondering exactly the same thing, especially considering they've been releasing other tv shows on DVD.
There are 6 Seinfeld videos that have been released so far, each containing 3 episodes which was good.
The Seinfeld marathon was great, they should do it more often!! :D
Yada, Yada, Yada!!

That Bill marathon was a tad dodgy, replaying the same episodes over and again.
Anyways, i've got like 36 hours of tapes from said marathon to watch. Should keep me going for months.

Apparently, it hasn't been released because the distributors are still making more then enough benjamins through syndication.
They think they can maximise profits if they hold off until the syndication money wanes a little.
Sound thinking.
BTW Some sad man (yes, i hate Seinfeld) has created an online petition in the hope of getting the show released on DVD ASAP. Thousands of sigs already.

Yeah, I agree.. thought 24 was an awesome series. Didn't think I'd like it at first because I don't really watch those type of shows but watched the first episode and I was hooked.
And I'm not a huge fan of Seinfeld either. Sometimes I watch it if I'm bored but that's about it.

Same here, i watched a pretty big chunk of it and although i missed the soup nazi episode I was fortunate that foxtel showed it in the regular seinfeld spot the day after.
I would've watched probably about 40 episodes from the marathon, and I thihnk there was only 2 which I haven't seen, which along with the Simpsons which I've ssen probably every episode up to the series before last, made me realize just how much TV i've watched over the years (dont know if thats good or bad)
But yea, Whenever 'm talking to people now i keep saying "giddy up" or doing that "zzzzppp" thing he does to tell me people to shut up :D
