View Full Version : Shaun Pollard
Not sure if this is common news or not, but I was informed tonight that Shaun Pollard, 2009 Captain at Frankston has been recruited to Box Hill.
The bloke that told me was an assistant coach at Frankton last season, so it would be legit. When I told him that Marko had been drafted, he said there you go, you have a CHB. Reckons he is a great player and Frankston are very sad to lose him. I don't see enough VFL to know, but for those of you that do, can you tell us something about him.

Pollard will be very handy with Markovic gone. We may need a few more recruits if the rumours of Yze going are true.
Also, Sam Iles & Cam Pederson are very good chances of being Rookie listed.

DOB 28/02/81, 189 cms, 86 kgs. Captain at Frankston in 2008 & 2009. Shaun has been training strongly, has shown good leadership and should be a solid contributor in 2010.
Ben Stratton wil be very handy for Box Hill given his form already shown against the big boys in the WAFL. Thats if he isnt in Hawthorns team. Are box hill actively chasing a ruckman, or are the prepared to wait to see what is available from Hawthorns list. Chances are there will be one mature aged player (to be rookied) and then of course I guess there will be lowden and Grimley. Shame that Walsh couldnt get over his injuries, his marking in the final against Port was some of the best I have witnessed.

Brett Johnson would be a great pick up.

I'm not in a position to report on anything specific re the recruits and losses for Box Hill. The energy and spirit at training have been first class and I've been very impressed by the leadership shown by our 2009 players and the quality of the TAC and other young players who are pushing for a place on the 2010 list.
The club will have to wait until after the Pre Season and Rookie Drafts on 15 December before it knows who will be available for 2010. I will post some information when I get the all clear from BB.
