GWS sign up a new footy star

THE Greater Western Sydney AFL franchise has secured another coup by recruiting dual Geelong premiership captain Tom Harley to its coaching ranks.

Harley, 31, adds further star power to the AFL's 18th club. Harley joins legend and inaugural head coach Kevin Sheedy and former Swans captain Paul Kelly as an impressive off-field team for the club that will officially join the AFL in 2012.

Harley is a quality bloke to have on board. Probable future successor to Sheeds.

Good signing. One of the criticisms of Sheedy was that he was more old-school and that by the time GWS plays that he may not be up on the newer facets of the game.
I remember saying at the time it wouldn't be an issue because he'll have younger assistants on board - and here is one of them, who has played in the last 3 grand finals and is therefore well up on modern football methods.
