Can't wait for this, sounds so innovative. Be glued to the TV every time it's on, actually I wonder if I can pre-order the box set before it's shot?
The Nine Network yesterday confirmed its new Sydney drama Cops LAC as part of its 2010 Programme Launch.
As previously noted, the characters in the series include 2 Academy graduates, one male, 29, one female, 19; a third generation cop who wants to become a detective; an ‘old school’ Senior Sergeant on the cusp of retirement; an early 30s detective who can read human behaviour in an instant; a mid-40s female Inspector with an impeccable work ethic; and a Superintendent who is smart, strategic, and respected by his peers.
Ok I'll even do the casting.
29 male, academy graduate: Some young bloke who's been unemployed since Mcleod's Daughters was cancelled. Oh Wait! **** me, forget that! We need someone who was on Underbelly, so we can say '....and Underbelly's...' in the tv spots.
19 Female, academy graduate: An unknown, but conveniently the daughter of one of the writers or producers.
‘old school’ Senior Sergeant: Will we go with Frankie J Holden, or Steve Bisley? Nah Frankie seems too nice and Bisley is too much of a maverick to still be in uniform. Simon Westaway will button down well, but what's John Wood up to?
an early 30s detective: Stephen Curry? Nah not available. Bernard Curry? Nah he's on Home & Away. I think there's another brother, yeah we'll get him, it's like the Daddo's, our audience is too stupid to know the difference.
a mid-40s female Inspector: Catherine McClements! No she's on that Ten cop show. How old is Raylee Hill these days? Yeah still not 40. Hmm... Roxane Wilson? Well either her, or that other blonde bird from Stingers.
Superintendent: How's Gary Sweet these days? Three ex wives and maintenance for all those kids. I reckon he'll be keen.
Don't you just have a lump in your pants for COPS LAC!
