Here in England it's hard to keep up with everything regarding Hawthorn. So I just wanted to know if the Hawks have any team/teams that r traditional rivals(in English football every team has a particular despised rival)?I already really don't like the Demons,Doggies,Bombers & Kangaroos but I am quite happy to add to that list!So come on Hawkers who r the teams to hate if u barrack 4 the Hawks?
Go the Hawks!

Well i think we have a rivalary with Geelong and North Melbourne. Though i might be wrong, and well the teams that i totally can't stand are collingwood, essendon and interstate clubs, ohh and richmond, only because there supporters seem to hate us so much.
Hawks 2001.

dipper essendon and hawthorn had a huge rivalry in the 80's and early 90's
its died down a bit now, especially amoung the players but any supporters around back then still remember it
and no matter who you barrack for everyone hates carlton and collingwood

Hey Walshy mate,I think u made a mistake when u said 'no matter who you barrack for everyone hates carlton & collingwood',I think u meant to say 'no matter who you barrack for everyone hates carlton, collingwood & essendon'
I already know that u hate collingwood as I've seen u upsetting the natives on Nick's collingwood page, especially Joffa!
I presume that the big rivalry between us & the Bombers in the 80's was because we were the best 2 teams?

Does the Richmond hatred stem from the '70s??
Until 1995 I didn't think it was even possible to lose to the Tiges.

Hawkforce, you got it in one. Even though we didnt lose to them much in the seventies either, it is just they were soo arrogant.
Trust me, compared to today with the blues/dons etc they just have no idea what to do.
No the hate was ingrained very young and remains still to this day.
Mind you i have tige supporter friends so im not totally phsyco over it http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/wink.gif

Interesting. Carlton and Hawthorn had a mini rivalry but it was not that big. Finals in 1982, GF's in 1986 & 87. During that latter period, Hawthorn actually held the advantage over us.
It's funny but I always respected that Hawthorn side and barracked for them in GF's against Essendon, Melbourne, Geelong and West Coast.
