On the 12th i had the pleasure of going off to the Basketball at Vodefone Arena.

So I thougth while i was down in that area i would stop over and have a look at the hawks family day at the g!

When i got there it was very good and helpful, with Next seasons membership areas and stuff all round the g!

They had tours of the g of the rooms and where ppl would be able to sit next season.

It was very very good and i would like to say Well Done to your club. Just wish Collingwood had stuff like that!

It's called not taking your fans (customers) for granted. Collingwood can but most clubs can't.

Incidentally, Hawthorn modelled itself almost entirely on Collingwood during the 50's - perhaps that's why they have striped guernseys too. Perhaps eddie & co should go and have alook at the Hawk admin - they have been sensational in the last few years - then adapt the best ideas to collingwood culture - which was a winning one once.

Thanks for the kind words Mags.

As Pess said, its something i feel that alot of clubs should be doing more. How many supporters feel that they are just money feeders to their clubs nowdays. I do too sometimes, but then you get a day like Sundays and you really do feel as though your part of it all. Its a nice feeling to have.

Cheers.

You don't ever have to feel like a money feeder at the hawks, Grendel.

The volunteer organisation allows you to do your bit AND blow off steam about the club, on and off the field, at the same time.

I am increasingly surprised by the non-inclusivenes of Collingwood members in their club. Only Social Club members can vote in board elections, and the despair amongst the rank and file is growing.

Football is increasingly run as a business and as such they don't like help (read: inteference) from the rank and file.

But at the Hawks, we are nothing without the grass roots.

We MUST remember that.
