One I liked was the Season 4 finale of Six Feet Under with David talking with his dad. Pretty much sums up life.

after next monday, i won't be surprised if dexter is the leader. Episode 9 , thanksgiving dinner scene is one of the best scenes of tv ever.

Too hard to split the finale of Six Feet Under and Sopranos, although for very different reasons.

Agree with the scene from the shield it was so well done. I would also have 24 up their when Jack Bauer wife died in Season one, Such a shock the first time i saw it.

And -tounge in cheek- the revelation of The Carver on Nip/Tuck. :D

Though the show has become increasingly poor since, the season 2 final shot of Nip/Tuck was a very decent cliffhanger and where the series peaked.

Some of the scenes from S4 of dexter are up there but for me, The Sopranos scene where Tony kills Christopher is one, if not the best moment - just ahead of the final scene though.

I thought the demise of Adriana had more shock value myself... man that was an intense episode.

Agree with both of these. Unfortunately for Nip/Tuck, the whole Carver angle went from dark to comedic at the end. His sister was smoking hot though :thumbsu:

Lost season One Finale "Were gonna have to take the boy" creeped me out the first time I saw it.

The Shield: Lem in season 5 has already been mentioned but also the final moments of the pilot for mine, awesome way to start a series.

The West Wing, finale season 2. It's raining, everyone's just found out Bartlett's secret, press conference is called, noone knows whether he'll run for a second term, Brothers in Arms is playing, he puts his hands into his pockets.....

Get shivers every single time I watch that.

Yep great call, love the West Wing.

I would like to add, some of the scenes in season 2 with Bradley Whitford portraying Josh Lyman after he was shot at the end of season one was some very good stuff. Brilliant drama :thumbsu:

Yep and great call.

Ha Ha - Agreed with the call on the ‘Isaac and Ishmael’ episode but agreed more on this call. The OC was not drama; it was simply a good excuse to perve on Rachel Bilson and Mischa Barton for an hour. :D

Love My Way - Season 1 - Episode 8 (a different planet)

Yep wholeheartedly agree on this call, my "Best TV Drama moment of the decade" would have to go to "love my way" and the scenes in season one where Lou (the kid) died.

The drama following this event was unbelievably gut wrenching and wonderfully acted by the entire cast. I know it’s cool to hate on Australian drama and television but this would be some of the best drama made anywhere in the world. A+

An honourable mention: would have to go to Michael C Hall as David Fisher in 6 Feet Under for the season 4 episode titled “That’s my dog” where David picked up a hitchhiker and is mugged. Watching the episode made me feel genuinely scared. Not many dramas are that believable and go that in-depth but this one was outstanding.

One of the best. It drags you in, and you fully absorb every scene.

There was uproar about the ep at the time wasn't there? For the graphic nature of the violence ... especially the gasoline and gun. You couldn't genuinely feel for David's life in that scene.

Probably my favourite 6FU episode.

I don’t know as I don’t waste my time with Australian free to air TV, I watched it on DVD but agree with everything you said.

I think the reason why that scene/episode is so powerful - and it is one of the most powerful scenes ever on TV - is because of the general lack of violence on the show. Then all of a sudden, seasons in and this guy is pouring David, who you've just come to love, in gasoline. Put that together with the fact that the show has no issues with killing anyone and you could get genuinley scared. I didn't think David was going to get out of that to be honest.

When Sil executes Adriana in the Sopranos followed by Tony killing Christopher closely followed by Ralph killing Tracey.

And in Aussie TV, by a mile, when old Betty Arthur is raped in Phoenix 11 That was as shocking as it gets
