I really did not hear much about Shane's game against the Tigers, did he play anywhere near his level of play in 99'?.

on paper when you look at the statistics you would say he is still the 2000 'crawf'.....

but by all reports in the papers is shane has rekindled his enthusiasm for the game and is itching at the bit to peform this year.

Don't know how he performed in Tassie, but it doesn't sound like he did all that much. Certainly on the basis of the intra-club match we're looking at the 2000 Crawf. He did a couple of nice things, but he never once looked dangerous and he seemed to be away from the fall of the ball on so many occasions it's a worry. The talent is still there, but he's lost that hungry, lead-from-the-front character. But it's early days yet. I think he'll fall somewhere between his 99 and 00 form.

I wasn't in tassie either, however, i was looking at the afl website scoreboard, and i get the feeling that he spent time on the bench, allowing our kids to get a run. When he was on though, he kicked a goal and by the description it was a classic crawf run inside 50 at full pace and slot it right through the middle.....crawf still has the best to come....we don't want him showing his hand two weeks into the ansett cup..we want him to hit the opposition where it hurts when the season proper kicks off.

My mail (usually reliable) is that Crawf is on a very short leash...lots of bench time, spells on the flank etc etc as an extension of his low key pre-season. I'm told he's none too happy about it either...word is he's hungry to cut loose and is back to his 'cheeky' best around the club.

Obviously only time will tell..

At first I didn't recognise him but then I finally realised he had a hair change. Gotta say he didn't seem to do much but I do hope he can get back to his 99 form, love to see as many top performers doing well.
