Just wondering, has anyone here bought any of the players "Dirty Jumpers" that the club has sold in the past few years?
I bought a Jason Dunstall one when they first started selling them, in his last year 1998.

I haven't got one of the club's ones, but I do have Rodney Eade's 1986 Preliminary Final jumper.
After the 1985 Grand Final, a group of us were having dinner at the Riversdale Hotel, when I noticed Rocket eating a couple of tables away. We were down the club a fair bit in those days, and Rocket knew us - in fact, he'd already "kidnapped" me, as my brother put it, and taken me into the rooms after a win against Richmond at the MCG (still one of the highlights of my life http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/smile.gif ).
Bear in mind that he'd been dropped from the Prelim side, and was given the "honour" of captaining the Magoos (with Bucky, Peter Knights, and plenty of other stars - what was going on at the selection table before the 1985 Grand Final? Boy finishing his career in the magoos, one of Hawthorn's great disgraces). Despite the disappointment he must have been feeling, he came over, had a chat with us, and promised to give me one of his jumpers. "Beauty!" methinks.
Now nine/ten year olds have a long memory, and for the next twelve months I kept waiting for my jumper. I never did run into Rod again, until after the 1986 Prelim - I don't even remember where, might have been the Social Club, which was quite a good night in those days (even for a ten year old http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/smile.gif ). Rocket saw me, disappeared, and came back two minutes later with the jumper he wore that day.
There's a picture of him giving me the jumper, and me grinning like Luna Park - he signed the photo, and it and the jumper itself remain two of my most treasured possessions.
Now when we get around to selecting the wingers for Grendel's team here, if any of you dare to vote against Rocket, there'll be trouble.
