This week's Rising Star nominee is a young bloke from Sydenee called Schneider.

Very unlucky, altho to be fair, i saw some parts of the Sydney game and Schneider looked pretty good and kicked some handy goals

Fairly unlucky for Sampi, but Schneider does still look good. I'd take Sampi over him though, and thought Sampi had the better game this week.

So whats that, stiffed twice in one week now, Ross Glendinning Medal and Rising Star Nominee :D

i had thought schneider had already been nominated. If he hadnt his game was definately very good and deserves the nomination. Sampi will get it by year end dont you worry:)

It's a pretty contentious one isn't it, i though Sampi deserved it although Schneider looked very good,

F.Goss also did an article on it....

End of the day does anyone even care if Sampi gets nominated or not?

Yes. I do. He is playing well and he deserves some kind of kudos imho. Id be outraged if he kept playing the way he has been and doesnt get nominated!

Often the RS nomination comes after a few good games, rather than just based on a single game. Schneider has played pretty well this year so far and capped it off with a great game on Friday.

Sampi looks like a great player (that interception from the kickout was fantastic) and he'll definitely get a nomination after one or two more good games.

Its not unfair! Did you see the Sydney game?? Schneider was pretty much the catalyst in the last quarter in Sydneys come from behind win. 2 last quarter goals, set up another couple. He looked awesome.

Also was his second game where hes had a huge impact for the Swans and been high in their best.

I thought Schneider was unlucky not to be nominated in Round 1 after an impressive debut against Carlton.

Still I'm sure Sampi will get a nomination this season (hopefully this week!).

*BUMP*

Surely Sampi would have to come into consideration for the Rising Star for Round 6?

I didnt think he showed that much this week, wasnt in the play often. It'll probably go elsewhere, but Sampi will win one week dont worry about that.

Sampi was better against the Dockers, but that goal he kicked in the first quarter was 'speeeecial'
