I think he has just given himself a spot as the first choice spinner ahead of Hogg!

10 wickets for the match

I think Hogg got 5 for the match, a huge gap between the 2 bowlers.

MacGill was named man of the match.

Sounds like the selectors still aren't quite sure with the mix of the bowling attack, so Hoggy might still play. Basically either one of Hogg or Bichel will have to miss out - unlucky for the one who misses out.

MacGill is very hard to tell how he's bowling just based on figures. I've seen him get plenty of wicket and bowl like crap, although 10/86 probably means that he did bowl well, but i've seen him bowl well and only pick up one or two wickets.

you'd have to think they'd pick Gorilla with 100 test wickets over Hogg with 3 tests. I reckon Hoggy will get back in the side though later in the year.

MacGill is $hite, thinks he is better than he actually is and basically gives me a fat that I don't want. Persist with Hoggy until Warne comes back so I don't have to look at Macgill's face, he always looks like he's about to start crying !!

Any chance he can bowl an over without a 4 ball in it.Almost without exception the guy will bowl one shocking ball an over. The aussie bowling attack loses its ability to maintain pressure when Mcgills in the side IMO.

Ahh.. statistics tell a terrible lie.

The sooner Warne can come back into the fray, the better.

Man of the match in the previous test, and then apparently his career is over?

Lets see ... no?

Said it before A million times and no one can respond because the answer is simply, "there isn't"

Tell me one leg spinner aside from Warne, Grimmett and O'Reilly who didn't bowl a four ball an over (or at least a ball that could easily be hit for four if it wasn't for the batsmen's incompetence)??

We have been spoilt recently with the exploits of Shane Warne.

We have been spoilt recently with the exploits of Shane Warne. But with Macgill its not lack of talent its lack of will power and want IMO.It always seems to be the last 1 or 2 deliveries that he will try something too adventurous instead of bowling for the team and putting it in a nagging area.Maybe he is not being used at the right times and it is showing up more these days?BTW there are plenty of tight leg spin bowlers but few have Macgills talent or turn it as predigiously as him.
