Acting legend Dennis Hopper is losing his battle with prostate cancer after the deadly disease spread to his bones

Talk of his final days.

I'm not about to write an obituary as where there is life there is hope, but not a bad time to discuss his body of work, while he is still with us.

More recently remembered for playing villains in Waterworld and Speed, he has more far reaching appeal, having worked with James Dean on Rebel and Giant, with John Wayne in True Grit, with Paul Newman in Cool Hand Luke and a large role in Apocalypse Now. Directed Easy Rider and Colors.

Seemed to be a bit off centre during his life, drug rehab stints and an incident with 17 sticks of dynamite being labelled a suicide attempt. I reckon he portrayed that slightly off persona well in his movies.

Any thoughts on Dennis Hopper?

Sad news. A key player in some legendary movies. Always a scene stealer, even in some pretty lofty company. Hang in there Easy Rider!

He only weighs 46kg and his cancer is terminal, he's not being treated for it anymore.

He hasn't got much longer to live you'd think. Sad. :(

One of the all time classic performances as Frank Booth in Blue Velvet. Sad news.

Unfortunate news. Easy Rider is on ABC2 tonight strangely enough.
