Underrated movie of the 00s. Unbelivable cast led by Cheadle and Gosling (who looked different i had to research confirming it was him) with his best acting role on par with The Believer and Half Nelsen. Not really well known but ultimately rewarding this film resonates best with the generation it depicts exemplified by the panning it took from critics reflected in a site like rotten tomatoes 33% rating despite a rating of over 7 out of 10 from imdb. Whether you agree with the themes of the film regarding crime vs compassion, it had damn fine acting strong backup perfromances from Kevin Spacey, Lena Olin and Kerry Washington. THe soundtrack kicked ass featuring among others the Pixies.
