I'm sick of McCabe's stuff-ups!

It was a mistake getting him in the first place. Nothing but trouble even since.

look mccabe is a steven shcwertt type player...he panics too much...but when he is on he does some good things....he takes the small forward and can do some good tagging jobs ie.wayne campbell in 99....so he can do a job if needed...look early on when they were playing him in defence he lost us a game against richmond when he kicked it 30 metres backwards on the full...but not tooo many more to mention ....us hawk supporters have good memory..in that we tend not to forget and for give....hope luke can at least repay some of the faith and play some good solid games for us this year...

Carn the hawks.

i wish you people would stop it with the McCabe bagging!!

Why dont you focus on the good things he does, and there are alot of them, instead of singling out all the bad things he does. I dont see anyone hanging it on crawf for all the mistakes he made last week.

What kind of supporter are you to say something like that anyway, im so sick of it!

Can't agree with that.

In 1999 I was the president, secretary and the cheerleader of the "Luke McCabe is a useless sod who should never play another game" club. In fact, I devoted a special space on my website each week to highlight what stupid thing he did that week.

However, since mid-99, and especially last year, Luke has become a reliable and important part of the side. His clangers have diminished markedly, he constantly beats dangerous opponents (Burns, Matera, Farmer etc), and when he's in midfield he at least looks like he knows what he's doing.

Two years ago this post would have been reasonable. But in my view you'd be dead wrong to be slagging Luke for his performances over the last 30 games.

HawksFan...have you been watching the same games as me ?
Packet's done a job on some of the bigger names in the game...the guy is becoming quite an accomplished footballer.
Have another look..

He is by far our best option against the greedy, hangout, no defence forward pockets of this world.

And he's got a bit of mongrel in him as well.

McCabe is a good footballer, yeah he made some dumb mistakes, but if you can't notice the difference between the McCabe of today, and the McCabe of 2-3 years ago then you are blind!

Sometimes i wonder if people actually watch a bloke play or are blinded by perceptions. McCabe is one of our best players in my opinion, he takes the most dangerous small forward week in week out and invariably beats them, yes he can make mistakes and they are magnified because he plays so close to the opposition goalsquare, but on balance he does a great job week in week out.

omg i am sooooo over all u people who bag mccabe. i don't understand if u barrack for hawthorn how u can bag players it is sooo pathetic.
Last season was his best season since being at the club and yeah maybe he does make a few errors but so does half the team and it is unfair to just pick out one player. I mean we never pick on crawf or dutchy when they make a mistake or stuff up and that is not being mean towards those guys either.
Sick and tired of this topic and if u don't like him then keep it too ya self.
