Well this evening the Hawks had their final hitout at Vic park....it was a good showing of the guys again....plenty of positives ....
Holland pulled through well....crawford turned it on in the second half....Clarke impressed once again....look out for ries....hes gonna be another that will take us further....great skills from riesy and kicks very well and is a smart player. Jon Hay played well on Barker...and Barker did well also...He seemed pumped after the game...really is loooking forward to Collingwood....Rehn played well and was rested after half time...

Chick played a blinder he was in every thing...he was at his best today...he racked up possies every where...he kicked well and setup many of thrusts forward.

Brett johnsons has had a hair cut...and looks alittle like Aaron Lord now.

Our Lonie is a good player tooo...he runs hard and kicks very well and tackles hard...

Mark Williams was a little out of sorts...looked threatening but was kept well in check...

So in all it was an injury free hitout and we can look forward to the opening round with an air of confidence as the hawks are pumped up for this season.

thanks for the report p77...couldnt get out there myself so good to find out how it went.... lets just hope that the hawks can get off to a flyer..... cant keep expecting to finish strongly each year and make the finals that way........
But must say at this stage things are looking pretty good.

Agreed phreezer,it was a good hitout albeit not under any real pressure.
Ries really is something special isn't he....and he's still such a kid.
And dont worry about Willo...this kid could be anything. I've watched all his practice matches at BHH and I know he's got a lotta learnin to do but he has the sort of magic that you just cant teach. Watch out for him next year...a la Timmy Clarke.
I was also rapt to see one of the BHH kids do so well too. Ryan Boyce played the first half at full forward on Croady and the experience will do him the world of good. He moves well for a big bloke and takes a lovely 'catch' (Parkinese).

Cant come quick enough can it eh ?

If Mark Williams has Ricos wraps on him (i like the sound of that, Ricos Rap. Can we get the copyright going?) then its good enough for me!

Thanks for the report Phreez,
Cheers.
