Ok, who loves a derby win!!! :D Took care of the neighbours on the weekend with a solid "away" win :) Gardiner was impressive again in the ruck, Samps had a break out game and Fletcher, Cousins and Chick were solid in the midfield. And that's where most of the votes went.

Here is how it works...Postion, Votes, Player, Last Week, This Week.

BFWCPOTY Leaderboard Round 1

1. 509 - Michael Gardiner ~~ 1-1
2. 390 - Chad Fletcher ~~ 3-2
3. 298 - Chris Judd ~~ 2-3
4. 240 - David Wirrpunda ~~ 4-4
5. 214 - Daniel Kerr ~~ 5-5
6. 193 - Phillip Matera ~~ 6-6
7. 135 - Andrew Embly ~~ 7-7
8. 133 - Ben Cousins ~~ 9-8
9. 97 - Rowan Jones ~~ 8-9
10. 81 - Ashley Sampi ~~ 14-10
11. 79 - Travis Gaspar ~~ 10-11
12. 78 - Daniel Chick ~~ 16-12
13. 49 - Josh Wooden ~~ 11-13
14. 29 - Drew Banfield ~~ 12-14
15. 20 - David Haynes ~~ 13-15
16. 4 - Dean Cox ~~ 14-16
17. 3 - Kasey Green ~~ na-17
18. 1 - Trent Carroll ~~ 16-18
19. 1 - Adam Hunter ~~ 16-18
20. 1 - Glen Jakovich ~~ 16-18

So the big movers this week were Sampi and Chick. They shared just 5 votes between them in the first 4 rounds but both picked up 70+ for the Derby and have moved into the top 12. Fletcher and Gardiner continue to distance themselves from the chasing pack and Gardy sits ominously on top, with his gap continuing to build.

Only 5 rounds have gone by but you would already be starting to think that it might be a bit tough to catch him. This week will see a few changes as Wirrpunda will miss his second straight game. Considering he is in 4th spot and is about to miss another game shows just how strongly he is travelling. Another top 5 player will miss tomorrow match in Duncan Kerr. Gardiner has a chance to really distance himself from the chasing pack.

Cousins is slowly starting to roll into his AA, B&F, top 5 Brownlow form. He is lurking and I will be interested to see how he goes tomorrow. Wooden misses out again so he will stay on 49 votes and Gaspar is back from injury giving him a chance to improve his position.

GO EAGLES!!!!!!

- as is there was any doubt! :p

Maybe we should let The West and 6PR know how the "real"people saw the game.
