Why is it that the team can drop their guard for 10 minutes when playing away and let the opposition get back into a game?
This is THE reason why the WCE struggle to win away.
Damn it!! We got off to a good start which is certainly what we wanted to avoid playing catchup but then we just let them back into the game in the second quarter.
Cousins is out....that hurts.
Would prefer White to be on the field. Gardiner was killing him and Jako was ruling the backline playing on Jolly. Now Jolly is getting the better of Gardy????
I really hope Cuz plays the second half. We need him to fire to get going. Judd, McIntosh, Jako, Chick have all been good.
CMON EAGLES......LETS GET AN AWAY WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't want to name anyone but... adkins is killing us, I have faith in him... but it may be to early for him to be in the side. Lets hope he picks up in the second half while cousins is out.
Munro has struggled too....would love Braun out there??
Although not a superstar in this game, I thought Munro had a very promising first game of season. He has bulked, has quick hands and takes a good mark. This was a guy a lot wanted to see delisted. I'm glad he wasn't.
Adkins had a pretty serviceable game too. Woosha would not have expected to be giving either so much game time but had to after Cuz got injured.
Well done to both.
What a brilliant game from the team - almost everyone did their bit at some stage. Adkins looked a little rusty but he will get better for the run - Read played a blinder, Chick was magnificent and players like Haynes, Hunter, Munro all did some really good things.
I am really proud of the effort today - this is what we can do when we are switched on in Melb! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Keep him up forward though. Still too skinny to play down back.

I definitely agree here - he couldnt hold his position in the contest down back but can be a dangerous forward - great mark for his size :)

I thought Munro was ****ed
Was exposed for his lack of strength twice by Vardy and Moorcroft in one on one contests. Neither player could be considered strong by any stretch of the imagination. Both marks cost us goals. Also cost us a goal early in the third. Running down the wing into our half forward line on the outer, gave an absolute **** handball to Embley who was dispossessed, and the resulting rebound cost us a goal. Looks like he doesnt know what to do with the footy half the time.
Adkins looked lost at times too. Got caught once and was lucky not to get pinged, but also ran too far with the footy. Hopefully this isnt an indication of his decision making skills, more a reflection of lack of time with his teamates. I did like his skills though, very nice off the boot and Im looking forward to seeing him play at Subi as it should suit his pace.

As the Official CHIPPER supporter i must say im happy, not exstatic with his first game for WCE. First half he was playing WAFL footy in the AFL, the speed of the game caught him, but after half time he was much better and that goal got me running around the room:D The gametime will help him immensely, who thinks he'll stay in the team if kerr and/or wirra comes back? Also Munro had a better second half but frustrated me a LITTLE outside 50, but he to will do better with the gametime:0
And the others above mentioned, amazing, superb. Great team effort

Gardy was swung back into the ruck late but by then they had their momentum up.
You'd think that after several years of footy, bouncing the ball every 15-odd metres would come naturally. But still, after a couple of absolute horrors, Adkins picked up and improved. And that goal was sup-oib.
I thought Munro was woeful at times but good at times also. Probably not his fault as he was in the backline and he was forced to play body on body which certainly isnt his strength, considering he has no strength. Something he really needs to do is put on some muscle. Whoosha though shouldnt have been playing him the backline.
Adkins was ok but I think both will lose their spots if Wirrpunda and Kerr are ready to go and if not Braun may also come back into the side.
