View Full Version : Sly thinkings for round 3....
Isnt it funny how not so many years ago a certain goal kicking, multi-premiership legend was heckled by the media, fans and other teams for dragging his side into the shade in a game up in Brisbane....
Now - in two of the matches I watched this weekend I saw all 4 sides do that exact same thing, plus use icevests and fans on their benches - but not one joke, laugh or jeer was heard......
Interesting..........

Yeah , amazing Slysta....no Sam Newman to slag off at anyone.
It's such a woossie , weak thing to do isn't it - get out of the hot sun to get your breath back !!
Did you do the whole Hastings St lap of luxury thing at Noosa or was it the Bean Counters Budget Special job ? I guess being able to see the Hawks live again just topped it off eh.
God , I hope you get next week too....I see a trrend developing here.

**** prefer the strappy sandal look myself , but thanks for the offer *******
Well my theory is that the Hawks v Melb match will be match of the day - what a blockbuster match - top spot could be up for grabs - so ch7 just HAVE to televise it!
As for Noosa - of course it was a budget bean-counter special....Actually my parents live there. Do you think I'd leave Victoria and my beloved Hawks without having some kind of compensation??? I spend most of my free time when the sun is shining up there! Actually my dad thinks I go up there to watch the footy with him (like we don't have TV's here in Brissy!) I don't have the heart to tell him that I'm just using them for their town!!!!

Sly, keep him away (you know who i mean) from your shoe closet okay http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/wink.gif
Just on the broadcasts into Queensland (and other states) from Victoria. Maybe its another bonus that Ian Dicker was thinking of by pushing us for the 'traditional' Saturday afternoon games? Regardless of intent, it seems to be working to our advantage anyway.
Cheers

Gren...I was told by a Hawthorn person last week that it was indeed one of the side benefits The Pres saw in Saturday Arvo footy....i.e less competion for interstate broadcasts. Not the main reason by any means but an interesting little bonus.
Smart fella the Pres.

Yeah - I was definately happy to see Dicker push for Sat arvo games. There's usually only 1 or 2 a round, which is why I get to see so much of them up here.
So much for people who say the club doesnt care about its members!
