Hello Gerard. Enjoyed your commentary of the Lions v Cats game today. However, there's one bugbear - and you weren't actually guilty of this offence, though each of your three colleagues were - and that is the Christian name of young McGrath in the back pocket for the Lions.
Would you please be so kind as to pass on to Messrs McGuire, Lyon and Taylor that the lad's name is ASHLEY, not Cory.
I'm sure this minor fault with Channel nine's otherwise flawless AFL coverage can be rectified before season's end.

These guys get paid to get it correct. I liked Eddie not being able to give Brisbane any praise, and his parting shot at the end of the match being the score being Geelong lost by, no mention of our name.What a dill.
Don't get me started on the umpiring.One passage of play was the worst I have ever seen, we couldn't buy a holding the ball, and a soft one is paid against us. Bogalling.

I heard them say it once, then again, and thought to myself, surely that must be it now.
Now I'm left wondering if they actually got it right at all during the game!

Idiots! How long before they get it right....
Must be some kind of record to be 6 Rounds into a season and to NOT ONCE had your name called correctly by the "experts" on the idiot box.
Probably not a record that "Corey" enjoys that much.
Oh well, at least I haven't heard them call us "The Bears" yet this year

A few times during this "flawless coverage" I was left wondering wether or not they realised this was being broadcast out of Geelong. The excitement levels were so great when Geelong had the ball and almost non existant when we were in posession I thought they must have all gone for a leak. :rolleyes:
I agree.
I deliberately turned the sound down and listened to the radio commentary during the live telecast.
Later on I watched the replay on Fox and let the TV boys rip.
Eddie in particular screamed his tits off every time Geelong looked like getting close whilst our good passages/ goals were called in completely deadpan fashion.
"ANOTHER ONE TO THE CATTERS!!!!!", "TERRIFFIC GOAL", "HERE COME THE CATS"...etc as oppossed to " goal to Brisbane", "......and Power kicks it", " etc.
One of the sidekicks even came out with " the last thing WE need here is for the Cats to concede a late goal and have all their good work this quarter undone"
These guys are supposed to be professionals. It's time they started acting that way.

yeah i was @ the game so i didnt get to hear it @ the time or i would have went over & told them myself.... but when i got home & watched the 2nd half of the replay i was like.. damn it... his name's ASHLEY!!!
they had that story saying how he had forged an identity for himself & that they would call him ash... but then, once again.....they did it.....
I sent an e-mail to Ch 9 also - it's also 'bout time they got their act together and got rid of Eddddddiiiiiiiiieeeeeee!
