Was I the only one who thought Lance Piccione was one of our best five on sunday ? No mention of him in the papers. He was great in close and won plenty of quality ball.
Plus in our worst (second) quarter he was having a rest.

Agreed, Picioane was excellent in tight. Showed vision and poise but this is nothing new, when on the ground he has done this all season. Without getting to carried away I see him as a Greg Williams/Brett Ratten type and will go far. Its good to see him stick it up St Malcolm.

I am quite happy for the media not to pick up on it, I think all the attention Brett Johnson got late last year has affected either his form or the attention paid to him by the opposition. Lets just keep this one quiet and hope he keeps on producing such sparkling form.

Dont be giving up on Johno yet Mick. The kids still only well... a KID lol! But a bloody talented one at that.

He will be there in the square when its time to dare cause he is one of the rare! (My Ali, Don King 'rumble' type promo)!

But the 'Sweet P' Picioane is a nice little (TANK) player too! Fantastic first quarter and though not as dominant later on, he was very important in getting a few clearances away late in the game when Melbourne were looking to threaten. Good footballer rather that good athlete. Nice to see that they can still get a game! http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Cheers.

The Age called him the human brick, and actually gave him a rap. What is really good to see is that he is getting more game time. He has always done well when on the ground, maybe he has been building up his fitness so is now playing more. Last year he was used as an impact player - coming on in bursts. Hopefully those bursts will be longer now.
