An underrated comedy in my opinion. I have been re-watching it on dvd (my sister owns them). Not sure why I like it, but I do.

Any other fans?

Yeah it's not bad, but the only thing wrong with it was the jokes were re-told again and again.

Is def a funny show, but not up there with the "greatest" British comedy shows. (ie. imo Fawlty Towers, The Office, The Young Ones, etc..)

(And also what is the whole thing being like 50 years old and living with your brother/ sister? Dear lord if that is me at that age, I'd shoot myself)

Very funny show.Everyone knows a Hyacinth type person, someone who pretends they're better than they really are .
Love the fact she has no idea Sheridan is gay :D

Decent show, but my issue with it is that each episode I've seen is virtually identical. Same jokes presented using an ever so slightly different storyline.

One of my favourite shows. Used to think it was unreal when I was little, especaially when she'd answer the phone with "BOUQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEET residence, lady of the house speaking".
Really need to buy the DVD's.

Really need to buy the DVD's. There were some great moments with that white slimline telephone with automatic redial.

Often the Bucket residence answer was followed by "oh Sher-i-dan, oh how kind of you to ring mummy", but the funniest was when it was the wrong number for the chinese take away.

i am/was a fan if only for the fact she reminded me of an older version of a girl that I knew at the time it was airing (ie that when the girl grew up she would be exactly like Hyacinth Bucket).

good for its time. :thumbsu:

haha classic. Reminds me of my Grans place, used to always watch this when I was little.

Always laughed when Elizabeth would attempt to have a cup of tea.

Touche. In every episode the neighbour will drop a cup, the dog will bark out the car window, the son will ring for money, the whole Bucket thing and she'll make a dil of herself in front of the priest

I used to watch it when I was a kid, my grandma has a few of them on VHS too.

Only thing I can really remember is Onslow.

Brilliant show. Nobody makes comedies as good as the Poms. :thumbsu:

Yeah drop of humour! Oslow was a standout in that white wifebeater.....

Not quite in the same league as Fawlty Towers, The Office, Phoenix Nights or Men Behaving Badly though.....

So many good lines.

It's my sister Violet! She's the one with the Mercedes, swimming pool, and room for a pony.

This is not the Chinese restaurant. This is a residential number and you are speaking to the lady of the house on a white, slim line telephone with last number redial facility

Hyacinth is pretty much my grandma exactly.
