The QAFL Team of the Century is to be anounced on 16th of June and I still haven't found the shortlist yet. Aparantly there was a list published in the Courier-Mail on the 7th of May, however I didn't buy it that day. Is anyone here aware of the shortlist?

Anyway on to the ToC. I've only been alive long enough to remember the last 15-20 years of Football in Qld, so naturally the following list of players whom I'd expect to at least be shortlisted have all played and contributed to the game is Qld over the past twenty seasons...

PLAYERS:
- J. Dunstall (Coorparoo) - Hawthorn;
- G. Crosissca (Western Districts) - Collingwood;
- M. Hudghton (West Brisbane) - St. Kilda;
- C. Co(katoo-collins (Cairns) - Essendon/Port Adelaide;
- S. McIvor (Wilston-Grange) - Fitzroy/B. Bears/B. Lions;
- M. Voss (Morningside) - B.Bears/B. Lions;
- M. Ashcroft (Southport) - B. Bears/B. Lions;
- M. Browning? - Sydney
- D. Dickfos (Nth Brisbane/Nthn Eagles) - B. Bears/B. Lions;
- R. Dickfos (Windsor-Zillmere/Nth Brisbane/Nth Eagles);
- J. Akermanis (Mayne) - B. Bears/B. Lions;
- M. Michael (Morningside/Kenmore) - Collingwood/B. Lions;
- N. Riewoldt (Southport) - St. Kilda;
- M. Kennedy (Southport) - B. Bears/B. Lions;
- S. Lawrence (Southport) - B. Bears/B. Lions/St. Kilda;
- G. McAdam? - St. Kilda/B. Bears
- C. Brittain (Windsor-Zillmere) - North Melbourne;
- D. Craven (West Brisbane/Mt. Gravatt) - B. Bears/Footscray?
- T. Weller (Windsor-Zillmere/Nth Brisbane).

COACHES:
- N. Dare (Southport) - B. Bears;
- C. Brittain (Nthn Eagles/Nth Brisbane) - Bris. Lions Reserves;
- W. Brittain (Nthn Eagles/Southport?) - Carlton/Richmond assistant.

Obviously there are plenty of others who I know I've missed. Please note that I've only included Riewoldt purely on the fact that he was the first draft choice in 2000 and one of the best first year HF/centremen in the AFLQ. Some players, for instance Danny Craven, Robert D|ckfos, and Craig Brittain are listed above because of the stints as captain-coach of their respective clubs. Craig Brittain was captain-coach of the '95 North Brisbane premiership side for example.

I'm not completely sure on Gilbert McAdam, although he did make a large contribution with the Bears and also the Qld U18's I believe at one stage. I do know he started at Centrals in SA. Apologies also to S. Black, he was born in Qld., however the majority of his junior footy was played for Bull Creek and East Fremantle in WA.

When the ToC is eventually anounced it should provide plenty of interest I'm sure. Any thoughts?

I thought McAdam was from the NT?

Though a lot move between, quite a few NT lads in the Cairns AFL and AFLQ.

Richo's right. McAdam's from Alice Springs - he's coaching there right now. I don't think he ever played for anyone in Qld aside from the Bears.

A quick update.....

This is all going great guns!! If you haven't booked already and want to attend, get in now!

There are 700 odd expected on the night at present. They've had to move it from the Legends Room at the Gabba to the big ballroom at the Convention Centre!

I had the chance to see the AFLQ ToC jumper this morning that will be presented to each member of the ToC - very nice indeed!

All 100 nominees will be attending, excepting those deceased who will be represented by their families/a family member. The 100 will be introduced and recognised as the finalists in the early part of the evening and also be presented with memorabilia for just making the top 100, before the announcement of the ToC.

Looking to be a great night out!
