Who did SAW manage? Is there a complete list? I used to know a few, but now the only one I can remember is Bananarama.
Was it Rick Astley? Or was it Bros? Who else were they responsible for?
Which would have been the best of their proteges?
Bros, Kylie Minogue started there, Jason Donovan, Rick Astley were all SAW products. Thankfully they split so they can't produce as much crap now.
Add Mel & Kim to that lot, plus Dead Or Alive (from memory). Samantha Fox?
Rick Astley defintely was, can't recall any others.
Anyone remember that 'this is the chorus' song - was a ****take on SAW
'This is the chorus, this is the chorus
It goes round and around and gets into your brain!
this is the key change, this is the key change
But we've done that once now, so we won't do that again!'

Legend!
What a list!
Rick Astley was grouse, always loved Bananarama.
Laura Branigan a SAW product!
Haha Hazel dean : remember "Searchin' Lookin for love, I gotta find me a maaaaaaan"
Dead Or Alive were always popular.
SAW produced DIVINE! That's a trip.
Jase Donovan fair enough. Kylie yep.
Samantha Fox hehe ...
I'm Talking was Kate Ceberano's band, right?
Oh geeze Latoya Jackson ... you gotta be a worry if your the member of the Jacksons whom the rest of the family calls the strange one!
Mandy ... was that Mandy Smith?
Mel & Kim ... my door was smothered in posters of those two. Smash Hits once interviewed Mel about her centrefold, where she said she didn't want to do anything with, and I quote, 'all my particles showing'.
Pepsie & Shirlie were, I think, backing vocals to someone before they got this together ... I have a cover of Free's "All Right Now" of there's, I like it!
Sabrina! Boys Boys Boys, I'm looking for a good time ... cast out minds back ... I believe she was jumping around in a pool and her outfit kept slipping off her.
Sigue Sigue Sputnik ... used to think they were amusing, can't remember of their music anymore!
Was it Sinitti who sang 'So Macho'?
Hey! Donna Summer was FAR too accomplished to be a SAW artist! She's top-notch!

I have their album! They sang to me on my 21st birthday! Oh Gosh the memories. Their big hit was Love Misslie F1-11 but there are some classics on the album, Hey Jayne Mansfield Superstar and Orgasm are brilliant!
I can remember cycling home from a friends house listening to the album on my walkman and singing my head off, I could see lights coming up behind me and thought it was a car so pulled over a bit but to my utter utter embarasment it was another cyclist who had this huge grin on his face as he went past. I was singing the chorus. "Ooh Orgasm, you're the only one who makes me cum". Very funny track.

Hehe the Stutter Rap, there was a media outcry over that record here with loads of politcally correct (although I don't think the term was coined then, I think we just called them do gooders) types on the news telling us how this record was offensive to those with speech impediments & how it would lead to them being humiliated, bullied & ostracised.
I remember being around my gran's with the news on & her buying all their crap & sitting there telling me how nasty a song it was, it would have been very easy for me to sit there & think 'You don't know what you're on about you daft old bat', but of course I had too much respect for my grandmother to allow thoughts like that to enter my mind.
Did all of the above have their songs written by SAW or did they just handle the production and management sides of things?

in the above list, SAW produced the albums/managed the artists. don't know about songwriting credits, although people like Rick Astley and Kylie did have their songs written by SAW.
