How about this for a topic?
Ive been going since the mid seventies so this is my favorites in the past 25 years.

1. Kelvin Templeton-if it werent for injuries this guy would be remembered as the best of all time-think Chris Grant with a 60/70 metre kick.

2. Libba-saves/wins more games than anyone ive seen

3. Doug Hawkins-had the lot pace, strength, skill, nouse and courage.

4. Rick Kennedy-The toughest, most intimidating and effective full-back in my time.

5. Peter Foster-played at CHB/CHF for the Vics I cant remember any player doing that.
Always beat Dermie

6. Les Bamblett-would leave good players scratching their heads as he ran into another open goal.

7. Steve Wallace-never made a mistake under pressure.

8. Micheal Maclean-no wonder he was called 'magic' never saw him successfully held in a tackle and i saw everty game he played for us.

9. Ron James-what a tragedy

10. Terry Wallace-liked him at hawthorn, loved him at the dogs-adore him as a coach

Simon Beasley

A most unlikely footballer (he was a Barrister !) especially a Bulldog

... but I will always have very fond memories of his great leap, sure hands and accurate goalkicking.

One of the best club captains the Doggies have ever had, I reckon.

Gary Dempsey took more contested marks than I've seen. Usually in poor sides as well.

Kelvin Templeton singlehandedly kept me barracking for the Dogs in my impressionable teenage years...those 15 against the Saints.

Libba..gone 10 years ago and again 4 years ago and still keeps busting his gut..fantastic.

Choco Royal...Bernie Quinlan...just greats

Bloodstained Angel just to put you staight Simon Beasley was a stock broker not a Barristor and he was never captain of the Bulldogs.
You were correct in saying what a great player he was for the dogs.
Along with Beasly my other favs from days gone are Peter Welsh,Ray Huppatz,Ross Abbey,Terry Wheeler(as a player),Chocco,Peter Foster and Kelvin Tempelton. cheers

Wheres the mention of Groenewagon (sp?) http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/eek.gif

Agree with whoever it was that said about Templeton. Awesome footballer, and (no offence meant) you were a poor side when he was playing. Absolute tradgedy with his knees.
