Hi there all doggie lovers,
I'm searching for the ultimate Bulldog Braniac, and will be posting a few 'teasers' from time to time to get you thinking red, white and blue!
This one is only moderately hard for anyone with a healthy football library...
Can you name the Aussie boxing champion who played for the 'scrays and was once knocked senseless by Jack Dyer at the Western Oval (as it was then)?
Good luck champs!

The man that you are looking for is Ambrose Palmer and i dont think that Dyer even got near him.

Well I know that Chris wore #29
Haven't a clue about the second Q.

Correct weight localyokel - Ambrose Palmer is spot on! According to Dyer's autobiography 'Captain Blood', he had been niggling Palmer all afternoon, but the Bulldog was too much of a gentleman to retaliate (much to the dismay of a the hostile Footscray crowd).
Chris Grant did indeed wear no. 29.
I'm pretty sure that the Ansett Cup was formerly the Fosters Cup. It has had a few incarnations actually. Remember the Sterling Cup and the Escort Cup??
The answer to Phil's question would be 7 -
Sydney & Adelaide -97
West Coast & Adelaide -98
West Coast & Brisbane -99
Brisbane -00
Keep the faith doggies.
