Do we think he'll get regular games? I know he's had a few possessions in the NAB challenge, but is he going to get games this year?

Only saw him play the last qtr vs Melbourne at Visy park, had a very good qtr was impressive. All other reports of his other performances this pre-season sound encouraging.

Think we might see Howlett get a bit of seniors action this year. Hopefully he is the only rookie we need to elevate this season.

I believe it has to do with us only having one veterian on the list. Allowing us to nominate him.

Well done Ben, had an awesome year last, runaway winner of Peel's best and fairest. Me and the Presto boys will be cheering you on mate (except when you play the Eagles of course!).

Is in our top 30, with some hard work and some injuries could very well get some games this year.

Could very well be an emergency at worst for round 1.

i know, but even in other times when we had put someone on the LTI list we hadnt necessarily nominated someone straight away...

When nominating someone to replace a player on the LTI, you don't need to nominate him until you are ready to pick the player. There is actually a salary cap advantage in doing so.

In this case, because we only had one veteran, there is an official deadline. That was today. We had to nominate a rookie by today in order to have that rookie available to play senior footy.

He is eligable for the rising star award, could be a smokey, love his game, could be the tagger we hav been waiting for, he can get the ball himself while putting mountains of pressure on the opposition, will hope he gets a game rd1.

Serious congratulations to ben. He is a true sign of what hard work and dedication gets you. Played together in juniors and watched him all his life. Never the worlds greatest athlete but he his heart bleeds footy.

One thing you can guarantee with ben is he will give his heart and soul for every opportunity he gets, only disappointing thing is west coast didn't pick him up. (afaik us westies were going to take him with our second last/last rookie pick)

Maybe its just me but i remember him going great guns in a forward pocket and could end us as a defensive minded forward for you guys???

My guess is he'll be an emergency for round one. He'll get is crack early in the year.

Great to see Ben get the nominated rookie spot......Was a ready made AFL player when drafted from Peel and thought he was unlucky not to be drafted onto a main list....But good to see hes now a chance of games early on in the season etc......Good player and will be good for you guys.

How does that work? Howlett is a midfielder.
