Does the latest accusation condem or save Mark Waugh? The cricket board will now be reluctant to see him dropped if they don't stand him down themselves as the "smoke & fire" argument will get worse.
Imho he should be dropped on form but now to drop him looks like an admission of guilt.
It would also mean his career will have that scar if he didn't take the extra money.
to lighten it up a bit-The other point about this is the Alec Stewart allegations- Indian book makers are obviously a bit thick who would pay a Pom to lose? - keep your money they will lose anyway.
Either that or have the poms conspired for the last 10 years on nearly every game & got away with it? The conspiracy grows

Don't worry about the hapless and tragic Mark Waugh - its the ACB who should be in the dock for their criminal conspiracy to cover up all this horrible business in the first place.

I agree on both counts.

The Gupta testimony has saved Mark Waugh's career for now. To drop him would seem like an admission he was on the take given thge chances they have given others in poor form recently.

The ACB must now come clean with all the evidence they have on Waugh & Warne for their own image to be preserved.
