Definitely worth owning.
Whilst the lack of a commentary is disappointing, the uncensored rap battle featurette is pretty damn awesome.
Up there with 'The Osbournes' as my favourite DVD atm.

The discount chains (Kmart and Big W) will be selling it for $29.xx, so you did pretty well.
Can't believe you got a good price at JB Dandy, since moving premises, their prices have gone up big time.

I tried to hire it out yesterday, all copies were rented. Damn you little homie tennis hat wearing wannabe eminem groupie kids.
I get the feeling it will be the most overhyped overrated flick I will see this year anyway :(

Definately!
The way they talk about it you think it is gonna be a journey through his life but instead it is only a snippet of his life and basically is just a sample of too many try hard rap songs throughout the whole movie!

It's a movie you've seen a hundred times, but with rap instead of all the other variables.
That said, I thought it was great! A simple story told well. Marshall did a bloody good job too for mine...

Obviously haven't seen too many then.
It's far from the greatest film ever made, but it certainly isn't terrible.
Are you a rap fan?

I thought it was pretty good, even though I should've put subtitles up :)
The part I liked best though was one of the special features - namely the extras doing battle with Eminem. How cool is that?
And on top quality film as well....thats better than being a bloody storm trooper interacting with a tennis ball or whatever you like; having a live rap battle with Eminem on a full film set. Sweet.

No i havent seen many movies at all. Maybe i need to watch it un"occupied" this time as i think it mite be one that needs to be watched a second time to appreciate.
not a rap fan but like eminem a bit.

Why do people buy movies before they've atually seen them? Rent it for $3.50 at a Video shop, if you don't like it...you've lost a few bucks..so what? $30 on a movie you haven't seen though? Stuff that. And do't get me started on DVD extras...POINTLESS!
In 10 years ime DVD's will be as useful as Video Cassette tapes. Enjoy your collections.

This is the ONLY DVD/VIDEO movie i have ever bought because i figure once you've seen em once why need to watch them again. Guess i just couldnt be bothered with video shops
1 i dont want their dirty old 2nd hand dvd in my laptop
2 why wait all that time for them to get it in
3 why wait 5 months until the damn thing comes off reserve
4 i doubt a new release dvd is 3.50

Won't have to worry about that for much longer.
In time they'll be giving you a new DVD for each rental, a disc that is playable for 2 nights, before 'self destructing'.

I can understand people buying the true classic movies to keep, but unseen movies and dumb movies is another thing.
1. If you reserve the movie for the day it is due out, you'll get a brand spanking new copy for hire (not that DVD's get dirty like vhs tapes anywayz)
2. The video shops get the moves in the same time as anywhere else in Australia.
3. Most popular video stores have ****loads of copies of movies like 8 Mile, I'm pretty sure you could get one just about whenever you wanted it.
4. New Releases at my local store are $7.00, or half price Monday-Thursday. Never paid full price.
