Is Shane Warne as Good as He Was?

I was in Austarlia for the year when Warne had his shoulder op & I remember what a great bowler he was before it-I especially remember how good his flipper was & how it used come through real quick & low & catch batsmen on the back foot bowled or LBW but it seems to me that although still a good bowler he is not the great bowler he was before the op & the flipper seems to be the delivery that has suffered more then the others.He was over here last season playing for Hampshire(& harrasing chicks on the phone) & his figures weren't that great, once upon a team these blokes wouldn't have been able to lay a bat in him.What do you blokes think?
Also our team is in Pakistan & they produced a turner for the 1st test but it was too slow to get a result & for the 2nd test the curator has been told to prepare 2 pitches(both turners) so that they can chose the best one-I don't mind this everyone knows we don't play spin that well & don't have good spinners but what pisses me off is that every warm up game has been played on a damp grassy quick bowlers paradise-so I say give our blokes a bloody chance you bloody cheats!

DIPPER - To be honnest I dont think Shane will play after 2002 just a gut feeling. He's definately not the bowler he used to be. He's not wizzing the balls down as fast and spinning them as much as before. But luckily Australia's got McGill who I rate fairly highly!

I've a horrible feeling we've seen the best of him. He doesn't turn it at right angles anymore and he has lost control of his flipper. I don't think he'll walk straight back in either when he is fit. Love the bloke but I think he's "gone".

To be fair to Dipper, Shane wasn't going so well. He had been averaging over 30 for about 3 years, and getting worse. Stuart MacGill was performing a lot better.

This is one where the selectors could easily have gone in a different direction. Credit where credit is due - the selectors had a blinder.

I almost made the same mistake. I had my 96 Test wickets in a year speech all ready, and was just about to fly off the handle.

Luckily there were enough clues in Dipper's post to make me check the date.
