Would've expected 75k+, disappointing.

Geelong home game......care factor = 0
As long as they turn up when it is our home game and we get the cash.

Rain late in the day would have held back around 5000 walk ups. A lot going on in Melbourne atm as well; F1, Comedy Festival opening weekend, Antipodes Festival. All factors which would hurt crowd figures.

Geelong played both Collingwood and Carlton in Friday night games last year and the attendances were 58k and 55k respectively. Why would we suddenly pull 75k? Unrealistic expectations, was always going to get 55k - 60k.
Felt like way more Essendon supporters during the 2nd and 3rd quarters but then the Cats fans definitely found their voices in the last quarter. Expected a few more cats fans considering it was there home game.

I went to this game and agree that the turnout was poor. The crowd did the ground justice and the game was entertaining but there should have been more attendees.
Having said that, the factors listed by previous posters are the main reason why it was so sparse.
I feel sorry for you guys you play carlton or collingwood though. Must be rough getting a seat.
