Tied test over-rated...

Hey all,
is it just me or do you also think that the first tied test at the gabba' between Aus and the West Indies was the most over-exposed over-rated event in cricket history? I have seen the image of the Aussie player getting run out sooo many times over the last week on the news,cricket show,magazines,and they even ghad a dinner over it. And also when I went to the gabba' one day to watch the test this week it even has a t-shirt on the test. Geez enough is enough...

The reason its important is because it was THE FIRST TIED TEST, australia was ever inolved in and it was the first time that australia didn't win a match against the WI in Australia

I'll be serious this time.

I wasn't around when it happened but it seems to be one of those things that people know exactly where they were and what they were doing when it happened.

Look at the era it was in.
# The WI were on their first ever tour and this was their first ever Test with a black captain.
# The WI had never been really competitive against Australia before.
# It was the first televised Test in Australia.
# The series itself has been widely acknowledged as the best ever and this match epitomised the closeness of the teams.
# It was the first tied Test in the world.
#Look at the last over, Australia need 5 runs to win I think with 3 wickets in hand. We make 4 and lose 3 wickets including two run outs from direct hits and a dropped catch.

I don't think it is at all overrated.

If a modern one day game ended like that it would be talked about for years and one dayers don't rate in my book.
