View Full Version : World's most out of form batsmen
A negative topic but watching Nasser Hussain yeterday and Brian Lara over the the last month you wonder how a great batsman can all of a sudden lose the ability to lay bat on ball and in some cases (Nasser Hussain) make themselves look like second rate tail-enders. The difficult question is, What do you do with them?
Anyway my top four are:
1. Brian Lara
2. Nasser Hussain
3. Mark Waugh
4. Graham Hick

5. The whole West Indian team. Well, nearly. http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
and the whole English team!
Justin Langer is trying to join them.

Most out of form..
1. The media
2. The Indian Bookmakers
3. The media
{I know their not batsmen.. but most of the media - even those who have not played at the highest level.. seem to think that they know everything.. and their opinion is the olny opinion.. - a bit like me really}

Makes a test century for the best team in the world and he is out of form? Well what can I say? Some people have their own opinions I suppose....

Magpie - Sprogs wrote that post on the 1st December, the day before Waugh got his ton. What did Ricky Ponting get in the first test? He only got 5 in Perth where previously he usually does very well.

GoEagles, one bad innings does not mean Punter is out of form!
Great to see Mark Waugh get a ton. I'm happy to eat my words and hopefully he can follow it up during the rest of the series.
Poor old Nasser got a shocking decision in Englands second dig. Umpiring like that definately doesn't help when your struggling.

CJ - You do have to agree that Ponting hasn't had the best start to the summer wearing the Australian cap. His average is 46.93 and so far he's only got 20 and 5. But I'm a fan of Ponting and I hope he bounces back in Adelaide http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well sure we might have had a few players that were out of form and not making many runs BUT we have tailenders who can come in and make a good amount of runs (rg. Brett Lee), and that is something the Windies don't have, their opening batsmen can't even do that.
*And congratulations Mark for the great haul*

Hey Spogs re: Nassere Hussain
It wasn't just the 2nd innings where he got a dodgy decision-in the 1st Innings he was given out LBW when the ball came off the middle of his bat & in the 2nd innings he was given out caught behind when the ball hit his pad! It's just shows when you're lucks out it's really out.
