If Shaun Burgoyne keeps up his current standard of goal kicking he will easily surpass Dewy's record of 51 goals for the season.
After Round 8
Shaun Burgoyne 25
Chad Cornes 14
Peter Burgoyne 11
Warren Tredrea 8
Jarrad Schofield 6
So how many will Junior kick?
Well over 70 including finals if he keeps this up however I am sure when Dewy comes back he won't be so much of a focus.
If Junior starts to kick as many in the second half as he does in the first half he could make the ton. I am quite sure he will get at least 70. He has 25.8 and I think only about 6 of those have been scored in the second half.
And of the current top 25 goalscorers of the AFL he is easily the most accurate with an accuracy rate of 75.76%.

Another interesting stat, i think it's correct, he's kicked 49.19 in his career (72.06%) amazingly accurate. He should be on target to kick 70 odd goals, will depend on how much time he spends away from the forward line in the coming weeks.
At FF he's almost unstoppable given decent delivery from the midfield and his accuracy is unquestionable.

Once Dew comes back I would expect him to be played in a position where he can score but not interfere with Shaun Burgoyne's goal sense. I am sure Mark Williams has noticed the difference between Junior's first and second halves and will start Dew in defence or on the wing for the first half of the game.
BTW, I just recalled that in the Richmond game Shaun kicked 4 goals in the second half after none in the first. But he still has a much better first half record than second.

He's so beautifully balanced and has a very "fluid" sort of motion -if that makes sense? I'm sure this helps with his accuracy as well as his leading, his ability to change direction with efficiency and the way he can draw his opponent to fowl him by using the way he distributes his weight so well. Whatever... he is a joy to watch.
Just remembered - Scott Cummings holds our club record, not Stewart Dew, with 70 goals in a season. I still think Shaun Burgoyne can eclipse that, and if not by the end of the home and away certainly by the end of the finals. Also, just in case any Essendon supporters come onto this board, Matthew Lloyd is the most accurate with 26.8(76.47%)

How soon we forget about Scotty, never really liked anyone with the same name as mine.

Watching Junior kick for goal and then watch Tredders it's like they play two different sports. Junior has a wonderful kicking style and you are confident when he kicks for goal anywhere up to 55-60 metres out. Peter also has a great kicking action when on song.

Unfortunately he can also be quite off-key. :p

I think Junior will kick about 55-60 goals by season's end. Our goal-scoring always seems to dry up towards the end of the year when the pressure builds towards finals.
Tredders will probably end up with around 30, as will Chad Cornes and Peter Burgoyne.

Yeah if he wasn't so worried about trying to give his brother goals at the end of games he could probably have 8 or 9 more by now.
His only downfall is he drops his head on occassions and lairises a little too much missing easy goals.
I reckon one round this year he is gonna bag 10 or more.

Yes, he does try to set up Peter a bit too much. I remember in particular one in the Richmond match in the last quarter. Shaun had marked the ball 40 metres out on a 30 degree angle. He kicked to Peter 40 metres out on no angle. Peter missed. The handball into the goalsquare was fair enough although Peter mucked that one up too.

I think he had 4.4 after 2 rounds and now he has 25.8. So he's kicked 21.4 after the first 2 rounds. He certainly missed a few easy ones in the first two games. 2 were laydowns and the others were pretty easy. I would have expected him to have had 6.2 or 7.1 after 2 rounds.]
After 2.0 against Essendon Shaun now has 27.8. That makes an accuracy rate of 77.14%. He may not kick the expected big bag now as he may play as he did on Friday, keeping the opposition defenders on their toes, helping in defence, handing out goals and allowing Tredrea to mark near goal. Doing these things keeps him in the game for 4 quarters rather than his previous 1 or 2 and helps us more in the end.
Looking forward to getting Dew back and drooling at what our forward line will look like. Top markers in Tredrea and Chad Cornes, the skill Junior, the arrogant Che, the tough Pickett and the pinpoint long kicking left foot of Dew. Now if that isn't a nightmare for opposition coaches nothing is.
