Essendon continues it's winning run! Solomon seems to be a bit of an allrounder. What did Hird/Carey get, if they played?

I don't think Hird or Carey played....I only got this report from the Hun here in Melbourne.
Anyone else with any info on the game, do post the details.
I reckon that the Kangas got at least 10 grand each from John the bookie!! http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/wink.gif
Did their ring-in district cricketer Matthew Drain play?
Clarification - Drain was touted on the North board as being on the Essendon team, I think he is on their selection committe or board or something.

matty drain is the football manager at essendon
captain coach of carlton in the district cricket
they changed the rules before the final, stating that u had to be an afl player to play
so drain couldnt play
along with robert shaw who opened the batting in the early games, and also played district cricket for essendon
and dean bailey who was the wicket keeper
i think sheeds also played the early games
as a leggie
goeagles dean solomon is a self admitted cricket hack
but u know the expression shit gets wickets
