Quarter time : Ess 22 Freo 20
So is Gumby going good?
5 touches, 3 marks and a goal, i was very impressed with that mark and goal, hopefully he can kick a few more:thumbsu:
Only saw half of that quarter, but he took a ripper mark and kicked a goal from it. Saw him leading onto the wings and went at a few ruck contests. Very impressive IMO so far.

Our second efforts have been very good in most cases...much better than I have seen!
Gumby playing well, Howlett pretty amazing for his 2nd game, Stanton once again getting leather poisoning.
Dominating the game, but not the scoreboard - little worrying :mad:

I doubt Kyle would have be any better, the general problem has been kicking.
And Lloyd would have made no difference.
.. Game over. Their forward line pressure and our lack of dominance in the midfield killed us.

Something is obvious, we did not choose our best 22 this week.
Gumbleton's display has been good, but Williams is beginning to disappoint me.
It amazes me how inconsistent we are.
I'd bring Still or Carlile in (if fit). They can't offer less than Williams. Reimers should never have been dropped. And for crying out loud piss Howlett off!
Howlett hasn't been terrible. You can't blame him for this shocking performance all round. Williams, Davey (tackling pressure aside), Ryder.. very disappointing performances.
Davey's been poor since he broke his arm, but because Jetta's injured and we haven't drafted any small forwards the only other option is Quinn

He is too slow. Play Reimers or Melksham in the middle. If we are going to lose (which we will) I'd rather give experience to these young players.

This is going to be a long long season.
Dont know where to start with this effort so Im not going to bother.
Look how freo have turned it arround in a couple of years (credit to them) and look where we are after 4 years of rebuilding.
Sheedy has alot to answer for. He really fcked EFC.
The only good thing to come out of the game today is the mcphee isnt on our list for another 3 years.
i thought playing geelong maybe we went too hard early and ran out of steam,,,,but now im worried we arent that fit!

come on... lonergan? Hurley has played what 10 games? He will be good no doubt but wouldnt have been close to the difference today.
