Just a question to all the all-knowing music posters:

Where can i get a cd of the fantastic oz hip-hop i hear on JJJ?

Such as:
2-Up - Why do I try so hard? (a great song about teeny-boppers hanging at the local shopping centre)

and The Herd (sp?) who have some great songs as well (the titles of which i can't remember)

If your in Sydney go to Next Level Records (on liverpool street), in Melburn go to Obese Records (4A Izett Street, Prahran) and in Perth check out Dada Records.
JB's is starting to get a steady selection of nice oz hip hop also.

I recommend that you pick up Land of the Giants - Downsyde, the Obescity compilation, The Stage is set - Lyrical Commision, & Stone Broke - The Brothers Stoney, while you're there.

I have purchased the Two Up ep. $16.95. Called Tastes Like Chicken.
Great EP, although slightly more expensive than I wouldve hoped.
It is great to hear some hip-hop with an Australian voice and story.
Maybe these blokes will be like hip-hop's version of Skyhooks - allowing the general populace to realise that u can get a hit and relate to local people without having to sound American.
Then again, maybe not.

1200 Techniques are world class IMO.

I just hope their next recording does better justice to how wondeful this group is live.

the Hilltop Hoods from Adelaide are awesome. Put on a good show too.

Check out 'The Culture of Kings' cd series. Its all Aussie Hip Hop.
Got some good stuf on it.
