So, who is in the more enviable position, Knights or Harvey?

It's a fair question considering Harvey was Sheedy's heir apparent, I was never a believer that Harvey would make a good coach but has he done a better job than Knights? Knights took us to the finals but we were nothing more than fodder for the Adelaide juggernaut. Fremantle have drafted quite well of late and their intensity is where it should be, they've also put it together 2 weeks running which is something Essendon hasn't been able to achieve in the previous 2 seasons under Knights for varying reasons.

At the risk of this turning into another hysterical anti-Knights thread, I just want to see what people thought of Essendon's alternative.

This is probably the first time in Harvey's reign that Freo have played two good weeks of footy in a row......

Harvey wouldn't have survived at Essendon if he had the same result he had with Fremantle in previous years.

Nothing against Knights' game plan, as it clearly works as shown last year by beating Carlton, Hawthorn, Collingwood and St.Kilda when no one expected us too. Until one of us contends for a flag, you can't make a rational judgment either way.

Harvey has Pavlich and Sandilands. You would hate to think where freo would be without these two.

Spot on.

Maybe a case of slow and steady wins the race?

TBH probably Knights is in the more enviable position. Mark Harvey is almost certainly coaching for his career and to make it worse he coaches a pack of basketcases.

Maybe a case of slow and steady wins the race?Perhaps.

It certainly worked when you look at the Clarkson (Hawthorn) and Wallace (Richmond) comparisons.

I never felt Harvey would be a good senior coach, and I still don't think he is. Fremantle do look vastly improved, however so did we in Round 1 of 2008; Knights' first game.

I concur with the above hypothesis.
