I'm fed up with editing posts with "fkn" "fck" or "f--k" and the like. Type the word out. If it's filtered, it gets filtered. If it's not, luck you.
Until it calms down, if you avoid the swear filter, you get a day off.
You've been warned.
Can I say "c**t"? Because it's four letters ... not to be confused with f***

I ****ing love swearing! This website needs to implement in the settings the ability for the user to decide if content is filtered or not. Like Digg does. And don't give me any of this bullshit that its too hard to implement, I'm a software developer and I know it ain't. For **** sakes!

Exactly right. You as the thread viewer can decide if you wish to view profanity or not. Moderating is no longer needed because each user decides what they do and do not want to see.
I'm pretty sure this website uses one of the out of the box forum software solutions so it may not have the ability to give the user the option of turning the profanity filter on and off however it wouldn't be too difficult for the website developer to come up with a work around.

Just click the colour dropdown tab halfway through writing the word, problem solved, swear filter says its not a bad word, can't be carded :p

Seriously, what I don't understand is why people find this so difficult to follow; surely writing "f u c k" minus the spaces is a lot easier than writing "f v c k" or whatnot.
As Ben said, if the filter picks it up, the **** will be pretty much just as effective; I don't understand the thought process behind going to the effort of working your way around it.
Anyway, the 1-day bans were only brought in as a last-resort when people failed to heed the warnings.
