Bad news unless your a kiwi because New Zealand won the women's cricket World Cup, beating Australia in the final by four runs.
New Zealand set a total of 184 after being dismissed with eight balls remaining in their
rain-affected innings.

Oh well...
NZ will soak up the vicory in the newspapers. Like they do whenever they beat Australia in anything. But we beat them in just about everything else so im not worried.
Don't want to sound sexist or anything, but i watched a fair bit of that match and i must admit the accuracy of the throws and the fielding was okay, but god the bowling and batting was similar standard of fourth or fifth grade cricket, i wouldn't mind facing those bowlers for a living.

I have to agree with you about the standard. As you said you try not to be sexist but really you wouldn't pay to see fourth grade district cricket and you wouldn't pay to see women's cricket. I tried to give it every chance and followed the comp through cricinfo but was very dissapointed when I saw the final on TV.

Oh well, one positive to come out of the game was the Man of the Match, sorry, Player of the Match was Belinda Clark from Australia with her top knock of 91 http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/smile.gif
