Rabs has got the answer right with Keith Forbes - interestingly enough William Lowenthal was also a runner-up in the Brownlow for Essendon, and later played for Fitzroy.

In between playing for Essendon and Fitzroy, Keith Forbes also captain-coached North Melbourne for two years, 1938 and 1939.
