For what it's worth, today (22nd of May) marks the 10 year anniversary of the last time Fitzroy ever defeated Collingwood. 'twas a wet day at Princes Park, Lynch and Dundas went berserk, one of the greatest FFC wins I ever witnessed.
Ah, what a great memory!!!

Was there as well, a rare break from playing...
Had a bunch of "never played in their lives" Collingwood supporters behind me hurling abuse from start to end, at children and grandparents alike, sweet memories, turning around at the end of the game and asking them politely to go and F*#k themselves.
One of my fond memories of Princess Park even though they ripped us of, of heaps from advertising and ground rent.

It must be a good week for anniversaries.
18 May was the 7th anniversary of Fitzroy's last win (v Fremantle)
20 May was the 8th anniversary of Fitzroy's 2nd last win (v Adelaide at Footy Park. Who'll ever forget that one?)

Was that the one where we kicked seven in the first quarter? What a beauty. Lynch was on fire. Mind you we tried our best to let them back in later on. Always good to beat the Pies, although '92 was the best way to do it (and '02 was good too).
I seem to remember James Manson kicking a goal in the last quarter and celebrating furiously.
Also remember getting drenched in the first quarter while the boys played the most unbelievable footy.

I also remember him giving the bird in the direction of the Adelaide coaches box. A bit of revenge after Robert Shaw's parting comments on Charlie the year before.

i remember manson running from the bench late in the last qtr down to full forward at the heatley stand end going berko.... a fine moment.
We were sitting right on the fence in the pocket when Manson lined up that kick. It was a crucial goal that sealed the match. We just closed our eyes and prayed!
Tomorrow (26th May) marks the 100th Anniversary of the first interstate VFL game. Fitzroy Vs C'wood in Sydney. We won of course. Fitting that we played the West Brunswick Magpies on Saturday and won by the same margin! The return match at the G will be a top game.
