I'm just pointing out that they thrashed the Windies without Warne and B Lee playing and McGrath not taking a wicket.

Not a bad effort by Dizzy,Funky and Andy [don't know his nickname].

He hasn't performed highly but give him a go. He can (and has) produced wonders.

This is like the "It's time to dump Langer!" discussion all over again, and look at Langer now - answered his critics with his 80 in the 4th test and has basically got a ticket on the Indian and England tours next year http://www.bigfooty.com/ubb/smile.gif

It was a joke.
I'm justing pointing out how well the Aussies did with McGrath not getting a wicket.
He was still a great bowler.
I think its the 1st time since 1994 he hasn't taken a wicket in a test.

Drop McGrath? Now that would be a silly thing to do.

I know you were just joking JubJub but just to that comment, After the first Innings the commentators said he had bowled one of the best spells, its just he didn't take any wickets. It's not just about taking wickets, its also about keeping the score low, and he does that superbly. Just on Langer, great to see the Western Australian perform and get out of the form slump. If a every player that went through a form slump was dropped then cricket would flop. The only way to get back into form is to keep playing. If it is a really long slump then you might consider dropping someone. Once one person has got out of there slump people look for someone else to say Time to Drop Them.

the fact that Andy Bichel could get 5 wickets says alot about the parlous state of Windies cricket (even if they are hitting runs today)

I think the thing is that McGrath puts the ball on the right place every ball but the Windies are scared to play a shot of him. So it can be hard to get a wicket sometimes. Then when someone else comes on they have a go at him and ends up screwing up and doing something stupid and getting out. And they end up with the wickets.
