There was a sequel proposed for Commando, but Arnie wasn't interested... the sequel was then re-worked and it became Die Hard.
I agree about Jumanji... that movie was begging for a sequel... obvious setting would be to have it actually go into the game and make use of the jungle setting and give the film a less childish, more darker tone, perhaps delve more into the origins of the game... bring back Robin Williams and get Kirsten Dunst to reprise her role as an adult.
ID4-2, no thanks.
I,Robot was pretty much set for a sequel by its last scene but nothing seen to eventuate. Of course just before writing this post I checked wiki and nerd king Ronald D. Moore apparently said he is writing a sequel for it.

They need to make a sequel of Saw. Cant believe no ones done it yet
Reality of sequels nowadays is every movie is now sequeable since the release of Crank 2. Character magically coming back to life :thumbsu:

Dark Knight - I'm sure someone can step up for Heath
Star Wars (now hear me out)- They need 3 more episodes between episode 3 and 4, a link up between the originals and the new showing what the hel happened in this time (something must have ie: Luke growing up, Darth kicking ass... well that's about it) Star Wars episode 3 1/4, 3 2/4, 3 3/4.
Billy Elliot - yet I said it.

I would love to see a sequel (or a prequel for that matter) to Blade Runner. Was Deckard really a replicant as is suggested by the later Directors cuts? Where did he go from the end of his mission? Where did he come from originally?
Enquiring minds want to know!
The last thing Hollywood needs is more sequels.
What with all the franchises and book-to-movie adaptions floating around, it's amazing that anything original gets made these days.

I always thought elements of American Pie 2 and 3, combined, would have turned out to be a worthy sequel. On their own, neither matches up to the original.
The second one had gags galore, but no real plot... just stuff happening around a party... the third one had the plot with the wedding, but the gags were a bit tiresome and running thin, with only a skeleton cast from the original.

I was watching Galaxy Quest on 7two and thought a sequel would be good for it
Army of Darkness
Would be great to see it continue on from the original director's cut ending (waking up in the future)
Nightbreed
I have an old book on Nightbreed, and Clive Barker mentions plans for a Nightbreed 2 in there. IIRC it may have even been planned as a trilogy. Never gonna happen though, but would be great to see.
Munich
The prequel needs to be done for this. Although the story is shown a bit at the start of Munich, and it would be very hard to top the excellent One Day In September documentary, a movie version of the One Day In September part of the story needs to be done IMO.

I see there is a remake set for a 2011 release...same story but with a different setting and it's modernised. It's set in Los Angeles and it's with guns and other weapons, but it still has the exact same story as the original 1979 film.
Another classic desecrated no doubt.

Austin Powers 4
On May 16, 2007 in an interview with IGN (http://www.bigfooty.com/wiki/IGN), when asked "So no more Austin Powers?" Myers responded, "No, no, there is a fully conceived idea for a fourth and I can just say that it's from Dr. Evil's point of view. So if you balanced how much of it was Austin with Dr. Evil, it's more about Dr. Evil than Austin." In mid-February it was announced that Roach will return for this film.[15] (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/#cite_note-14)
On May 9, 2007, at the Shrek the Third (http://www.bigfooty.com/wiki/Shrek_the_Third) premiere, Mike Myers announced that a fourth Austin Powers film is in development and that it is planned to focus more on Dr. Evil than Austin himself. He also said that he'd be starting work on it after he starts work on another film project, The Love Guru (http://www.bigfooty.com/wiki/The_Love_Guru), in August 2007.[16] (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/#cite_note-15)
On July 30, 2008 Mike Myers stated that he had begun writing Austin Powers 4 and that the plot is "really about Dr. Evil and his son."[17] (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/#cite_note-16)
Speaking to MTV, director Jay Roach confirmed that star Myers is developing a fourth installment of the spy spoof franchise.
"[Mike is] working on ideas for it, people are definitely talking about it and I'm all good for it," said Roach, who directed the first three Austin Powers movies.
The filmmaker added that Myers's comical spy character would go "somewhere you haven't thought of" in the next movie.

a sequel would have only contained core characters from the original
that collection of "who's who of animated cartoons" was always going to be just a one shot deal... actually getting other studios such as Warner Brothers to lend their characters for a Disney flick was a little kid's wet dream

I do not know if anyone is a fan of this movie but i think INNERSPACE ( with DENNIS QUAID AND MARTIN SHORT) needs a sequel, the reason why is at the last scene you see martin short drive off after Dennis Quaid who's in a limo , and martin short notices that the driver is one of the bad guys.
Desperate Measures (1998) deserves a sequel. Michael Keaton performance was brilliant.

My sequel would be some divers finding the game and then getting caught on an island with that shiz. Nobody to help them so they have to try to survive it in the wild, so to speak.
Totally new cast, no need to bring back Williams (:thumbsu:) and Dunst (not so much).
It would also have to be more graphic and violent...people actually dying? Would make a really cool MA15+ movie...the game being pissed off at losing!

Master & Commander: The Far Side Of The World is begging for a sequel. Critically acclaimed, tons of untapped source material, and two stars (Crowe & Bettany) who'd like to make another film.
Unfortunately wasn't a complete runaway financial success. It made plenty of money, but not enough given its massive budget to kickstart a franchise.
