Damn this lisp. It's Port. 3 goals to Byron Pickett and Warren Tredrea. Numerous touches to Pickett, Carr, Schofield and Wanganeen. The way Pickett and Schoey were running free, maybe Mark Williams tactics were to get them not to wash for a week. Warren and Dean taking marks all around and get this, Warren can kick! Too bad Brogan can't. His second quarter shot at goal from 35 metres which didn't even make the distance was shocking. But he kept the ball in most of the time. Junior was on top form in the first quarter. Set up a goal to Carr, scored one himself and a beautiful pass to Wilson was spoiled by a behind.
Well, got to go back now, game'll be starting again soon.

Still 27 points at 3/4 time. Lead to Port, that is. Were 41 points up but McGrath went to full-forward for the Bombers and kicked 3. Tredrea kept up his form(8 marks so far) and kicked another 1.1 for a night's 4.1. Pickett didn't even touch it. One of Essendon's goals was pretty shocking. Kingsley took the ball when he should have knocked it clear to ****y but the worst was ****y then made NO effort at all to stop the Essendon player who kicked to the head of the square. Oh, well. Only lost 2 points of our lead. Unless Essendon can really pull something out we're home.

Port 23.8(146) d. Essendon 14.12(96).

Warren Tredrea 16 kicks(all effective), 7 handballs, 10 marks(4 contested) and 7.1. Could get BOG for that.

Other multiple goalscorers too, which was good. Pickett 4, ****y 3, Brogan 2, S.Burgoyne 2. James ran his legs into the ground in the last quarter and ****y gave an Essendon player a wedgie. So now we'll be 3rd tomorrow unless West Coast and Richmond draw or Richmond beats West Coast by less than 20 points.
What was most pleasing was how we ran away after Essendon got to 15 points in the last quarter. I wish we wouldn't do that fart-arsing around in the last 5 minutes after we've won, though. We did it again and they kicked 2.1 to 1.0 in the last few minutes. Not as bad as the Carlton match when it started with 7 minutes to go, and they made up 4 goals, but nearly.

Anyway, don't want to be negative. And hopefully Cornes enforced rest won't cost us. Certainly didn't tonight.

I dobt it. Although I did once have a part in a play that called for me to threaten three billygoats with the fate of becoming my supper.
