View Full Version : Movies on SBS
Does anyone know where i can get videos of some movies shown there? No i am not wanting to find some of the foreign soft-porn stuff. I am talking about movies like "The Tunnel", which is based on a true story about the Berlin Wall and a group of professional smugglers who try to smuggle people across to West Germany, and "The Eliminator", a show that was aired on tv on Friday night just past and is about Swedish cops taking on the Russian mafia. These are an example of the many foreign movies i enjoyed and would so like to have them on video (i should have taped them!) Now hopefully some of you have seen them or know what i am talking about and hopefully help me out.

You could try www.blackstar.co.uk, which generally has a huge range as well as a search service to find out of stock videos such as The Tunnel.

If you have pay TV then you may wish to sdubscribe to the World Movies Channel, which has most SBS films on constant rotation.

This is probably the best bet.
Although SBS is still free to air's primary supplier of ethnic content, I think they have moved a lot towards news, sport and documentaries over the last few years. Nowhere near as many movies and overseas series as there were 10-15 years ago.
SBS used to be on air 12-14 hours a day... now they are just about 24 hours... but still less movies and series.
World Movies also has a lot more new stuff, movies from the last three years or so.

The SBS that I'm thinking of likes to re-run movies over and over again. They will be shown again within 6 months, just tape them then.
Why I must have seen Erotic Ghost Story three or four times ;) :p
