White - OK, mainly played at CHB as a stopgap
Gilham - worse than awful (got athleticism, but no heart or footy ability)
Moragn - reliable and athletic as usual
Harty insists on not playing players in their usual spots and its probably only this that is holding Morgs back.
Morgs is awesome, just needs some direction.
White - give him some more time (obviously)
Gilham - give up on him at the end of the season, not worth sticking with, reminds me of Gilligan from the Crows, no heart, not a real good footy brain either.

Thanks once again for the prompt candid reporting. White and Gilham are self explanatory, but your comments on Morgan are interesting. Where's he being played, and what sort of direction does he need?

Morgs is an interesting player.
IMHO he's awesome at a key position in the SANFL but isn't quite big enough for the same job in the AFL.
I reckon he'd be great on a half back flank given time to develop in the AFL but he's got a few things against him.
1 is the awesome defence the Power has that he's trying to crack into,
2 is that Darel Hart insists on shifting every player every 5 minutes of a game if we're not winning (ie every week).
If I was a Power coach/official I'd be ****ed off the way Hart just keeps moving him around to try and fill a spot, ie up back, or forward.
Every North fan agrees he should be left at CHB.
It aint a Port thing though, we've got a young bloke called Adam Grocke who WILL be picked up in the draft this year and Hart insists on playing him in a different spot every week, he's been awesome at adapting (he's only 18) and Hart had the cheek to put him on the bench for no reason today.
North supporters are becoming very dispirrited with Harts coaching and I suspect Port officials/coaches would be feeling the same too.

If Gilham is working out the way you say, we need to move him ASAP. There's a fair bit of player capital invested in him being a good player.

Im telling you now, give up on Gilham, but invest whatever you can in Morgs!

I suspect that the main problem with Gilham is that being in an unsuccessful environment, and being a bit homesick, is not conducive to good football.
The talk about no heart or footy skills are pretty much contrary tot he reasons why he was rated so highly come draft time, which says to me there's something wrong.
The Power would probably be better off if he was at Westies or Norwood even where he could maybe get into the side and get a bit of winning feeling.
But you must be able to see at least something in Gilham? Has he played a good game you can remember, even reserves? Does he ever look like injuries may be holding him back? Picking a player up one year and then dropping him the next is not what anyone wnts o do. There must be some positives about him, even if they don't seem much at the moment.

See, this is the difference.
Morgan has/should be no more homesick than Gilham, he joined us through the Power a while ago (played his 50th game today) but has the intestinal fortitude to play his heart out from day 1 with us and is an awesome player.
Gilham reads the play no better than any other 18yo SANFL player, has a bit of athleticism but lacks heart (unlike Morgs).
Ive seen a lot of kids come and go, and I can tell you now you'll get nothing out of him, wouldnt make one ioata of difference if he moved clubs.
Morgs on the other hand, if he could move clubs and be left in one set spot he'd become a regular player in no time.
Morgs = talent, heart, athleticism, footy ability
Gilham = average talent, bit of heart, athleticism, bit of footy ability.
All just my honest opinion of course, but Ive seen a lot come and go over the years and am not too far off the mark usually, Id class Gilham in the same class as Gilligan from the Crows and Barry Brooks last year.
How'd Chris Hall go?
I've always liked Morgs.
