Are the people who select the Ausrtalia A team really looking to develop the new breed of Australian cricker, encouraging youth?
We all have our opinions on Blewett, Hayden, Slater, Fleming, Wilson etc. We know what they can and cant do. Wwouldnt the Australia A concept be good to trial promising untried youngsters? Like Innes, Kremeskothen etc? Otherwise whats the point?

I think it should probably be a mixture of both experienced fringe players and youngsters.
By experienced fringe players I mean players who havent had a lot of one-day international exposure but arent exactly young (Love, Langer, Maher, Campbell, Elliott, Cox, S.Young), not the recycled players who excel at lower levels but fail in the first team.
Langer should be given a go at some stage. He has played only 8 ODI's, average of 32, strike rate of 89. Another puzzling omission, especially considering his domestic one-day record is also very good.

There's nothing puzzling about it. Despite his record, Langer is a slow, boring batsman who is out of touch at the moment. He doesn't bowl while he can't field at short leg for 50 overs. There are much better options not already in the "A" team than Justin Langer.

It's true hard work never killed anybody, but I figure, why take the chance??
