I saw this movie with my wife at the Rivoli (Melb.) on Friday night. A very powerful movie, and I can highly recommend it. I won't divulge the plot details apart from the psycho-sexual thriller thread of the storyline.

It had a few very interesting twists, and despite 90% of the 'action' taking place in a loungeroom, kept me rivetted. A very brave performance by Sweet, whom I had pigeonholed as a boofhead ocker. His performances in the early Police Rescue series on the ABC may be remembered by some, and this movie is confirmation the guy can act (I have yet to see 'The Tracker').

A word of caution: if your marriage is not sound, I wouldn't recommend seeing it with your spouse - it is very confronting. There wasn't a big turnup for the screeing my wife and I attended, but I did note that many of the men had faces like thunder on exiting the theater. I've been constantly mulling over in my mind the issues raised, and some are difficult to process. I will venture to say that couples seeing it together will have much to talk about, although I sat in silence for much of the trip home (I'm a brooder, apparently).

A good flick, and if the girls fancy Sweet, they will like the full-frontals of Gary, who is in great nick for a guy his age. I wish.

Caught this one tonight and am still coming to terms with it.

Let me just say that yes, it is exceptionally well made with a pair of stunning performances, but I cannot remember having such a traumatic time watching a movie.

This was a very, very difficult film to watch.

I do recommend it, but certainly not on a date.

Sandeano,

I agree. Wouldn't be the movie I'd choose to see with someone I wasn't really cosy with. A week later (almost) and it still has me thinking and discussing with my wife. Haunting.

Yes, I forgot to mention the great acting by the lady who played Alexandra (don't call me Alex).Originally posted by sandeano
