Dear Fellow Essendon Supporters,
I'd like to apologise for my negativity and general dribble that I have been posting. It isn't helping anyone and it's not constructive.
I'd also like to apologise to the players and coach of the Essendon Football Club as I've posted many dumb and nasty comments which I regret.
I am killing off the kelvin persona and coming back as a bigger better happier version. Hopefully to celebrate with the rest on here when we get that elusive 17th flag and regain our rightful place as the no. 1 club in the country.

Bye kelvin. You were always very upfront and truthful about your opinions. Your posts, whilst often optimistic were sometimes refreshing (maybe 1 out of 10 threads).

I actually don't want him to leave believe it or not. I hate the group mentality on this board where posters e.g. kelvin sheedy, get attacked for expressing their opinions. So what if he sprouts negative crap, it is an internet forum and if you can't deal with it then I struggle to see how you would deal with criticism away from your computers.

This mentality is part of the problem, its not about being pro or anti Knights, form an opinion from a point of logic rather than reactionary bullshit after every loss/win.

He was off to the Gold coast last year and this year he is retiring - kind of like the Johnny Farhnam farewell tour that went on for about 4 years.
I'll give him a month.

Tbh, I always enjoyed reading kelvin's posts. Behind some of the outlandish statements, there was a very astute football brain.

You're kidding aren't you? There is more to the game than stats you know? In fact, this was his biggest problem imo. Based all his thoughts and opininions around stats when half the time they were baseless. If he spent more time watching the game he would realise this and wouldn't rely on them so heavily.

Bigger stats whore than Gazza jnr. Did you know that Leroy Jetta is a speed demon? He has to be, he was once recorded as running a quick 20m sprint!

This. I hate how on this board if you don't sing Essendon's praises all the time and if you ever criticise the club you aren't a true supporter.
Why do you care if others disagree with you?
People who stop watching or going to games when we're losing, aren't true supporters. Certain people on this board have done this.
I don't think any less of the people claiming Knights won't take us to a premiership, and personally, I'm somewhere in between.
However people are entitled to disagree with you for saying "negative" things, just like you are entitled so say as much in the first place.

Jetta has acceptable pace. He is not the speed demon people make him out to be. Anyone that watches the game knows this. He ends up having to back track because he is not even quick enough to get around players.
Perception is a wonderful thing. Reality is often very different. When the goggles come off the gap between perception and reality narrows.
I've noticed this more so with high draft picks, on this board. Jetta is a priority pick so he must be fast and good.

The reality is Jetta is physically capable of being the second fastest at our club as proven by having done it before. Now the fact is, he hasn't been reading the game well and his fitness has limited his sustainability.

A footy field is a hell of a lot larger than 20m and footballers need to do repeat sprints. Anyone that actually believes that once running a quck 20m sprint equates to being a quick AFL footballer is off their head.
I'm happy for someone to post some footage of him burning off a player at AFL level. I can assure you that such footage does not exist.
