Anybody else watch him on Denton tonight?
A fascinating man who has lived a helluva life.
I have often thought with Barry that he should ditch the facade, the alter egos; ie Dame Edna, Sandy Stone, Sir Les Patterson (actually no -keep Sir Les, bloody love him) and just get up on stage for two hours and talk about himself. Far more interesting.
Fascinating man, he is almost like the Oscar Wilde of our times.
A great Raconteur...
Please live forever Bazza.

Yeah, great interview again by Denton. He found it hard to penetrate Barry's defences for a while - I thought he didn't wan't to let Andrew too close to the real Humphries.
Actually the first time I've felt Andrew appeared flustered in that he wasn't getting anywhere (Barry would interrupt and talk over him rather than answer the question he didn't want to answer).
I thought that eventually Andrew got answers that others have failed to, which is a feather in his cap, but the tussle between two men of reasonable intellect was interesting. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it, though.
Did you see the news afterward, with Sir Les at the gates of Government House in Canberra imploring Peter Hollingworth to come and let his Cultural Attache in? Very funny.

Yes it was an interesting interview Bulldogs. I actually thought that Denton was a little intimidated by Humphries - he seemed almost in awe of him. Denton did try at times to steer the interview back onto his terms but Humphries would just keep going with his monologues.
With people like Humphries you are probably better off just letting them take the interview where they want to; it always seems more interesting.
Agree with your comment re: the intellectual battle of wills.
Yep; love Sir Les, what a GG he would make!!
